Appalachian Festival Planning Committee

The Appalachian Festival is a compilation of multiple cross-promoted events into one three day festival to be held in Raleigh County in late August each year.  2013 featured the 17th Annual Appalachian Festival whose original mission was to expand on the annual Arts & Crafts Festival, hosted by the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.

Creating the Festival allows us to showcase several other events simultaneously in other key locations within Raleigh County.  This group promotion allows these different Festival hosts to take advantage of a collective advertising campaign which will draw visitors to Beckley-Raleigh County for multiple day, multiple location visits.

A festival committee, consisting of one representative from each host, is set up and will act as the administrator of the event, handle scheduling of events and basically acting as a liaison between the nine host organizations.

The following organizations are involved in hosting festival events

50th Annual Appalachian Arts & Crafts Fair – Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce
Tamarack “The Best of West Virginia”
Taste of Appalachia – Beckley Renaissance

Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine Tours & Exhibits
