Now Accepting Applications - LEADERSHIP BECKLEY 2019
Leadership Beckley is a program sponsored by Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce to develop the leadership potential of selected individuals to prepare them for greater civic responsibility and involvement and to provide a forum for future leaders to develop and connect in the Beckley-Raleigh County community.
“Leadership Beckley provided me with the opportunity to network with other individuals who want to take on more of a leadership role in their communities. I also gained important knowledge on the overall picture of the community and how to prepare myself with the responsibility of taking on leadership roles.” - Kelly Elkins, Community Resource Facilitator for Mountain State Centers for Independent Living and Newly Appointed Human Rights Commissioner City of Beckley
"When I first moved to the area in 2012, I knew very few people and very little about Beckley and Raleigh County as a whole. The more and more I got familiar with my new surroundings and got to know the great people of this community, I knew that I could make a difference. Being a young professional and new to the area. In the Fall of 2017, I applied for, and was accepted into Leadership Beckley. Through this tremendous program, I not only gained an intimate knowledge of my community, but have met some amazing people. I now serve on the Planning Committee for Leadership Beckley and the BRCCC Governmental Affairs Committee, both of which are working constantly to improve our community and the lives of its residents. To me, the Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Beckley represent limitless opportunity for personal as well as professional growth. I would encourage any business or professional, young or old, to get involved and help continue to make our community the best it can be." - DANIEL J. BURNS, Esq
