New Critical Transport Course Scheduled at New River CTC
New critical transport course scheduled at New River CTC
Applications are now being accepted for a new critical care transport course offered through New River Community and Technical College in collaboration with HealthNet Aeromedical Services at the Raleigh County Campus beginning in January 2017.
The critical care transport course was designed specifically for paramedics and registered nurses to provide them with the knowledge and skills to assess conditions and manage the transfer of critical patients between hospitals, specialty referral centers and extended care facilities.
The 12-week course will be held on Fridays at the Raleigh County Campus, Beaver, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning January 20. Tuition is $850, and students must be either a registered nurse or certified paramedic to enroll.
New River CTC also offers both certificate and associate degree paramedic programs. Spring classes are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays at the Nicholas County Campus, Summersville, beginning January 23 and at the Raleigh County Campus, Beaver, on Tuesdays beginning January 17.
“Paramedics are the link from the scene into the healthcare system,” said Coordinator of EMS/Paramedic Program Paula Johnson. “We train students to assess the situation, provide emergency care and transportation to meet the needs of our communities. Paramedics are in-demand, and our program has a 100 percent job placement rate.”
In order to enroll in the paramedic program, students must be eligible to take English 101 and Math 99.
For additional information, contact Johnson at email@example.com or 304-883-2450.
New River Community and Technical College serves nine counties in southeastern West Virginia from the Greenbrier Valley Campus (Lewisburg), Mercer County Campus (Princeton), Nicholas County Campus (Summersville) and Raleigh County Campus (Beaver/Beckley).
